Another item from Ricky Young, Quality Artifacts, Springfield, Vermont. Antique Dressel 4-Way Red & Green Railroad Switch Signal Lantern, Rutland Railway Corp. The top is usually marked as such, but the mark is either obscured now, or the top was replaced at some point.

Inside is a patent dataplate, which is difficult to read. This lantern comes with an Adams & Westlake Adlake fount tank and burner assembly with Pyrex chimney as shown. The glass is 2 x red, and 2 x blue, all ribbed or scalloped on the front, and fresnel on the rear, and all are unbroken.

The red lens on the slide up door is marked Corning. The lenses are hooded as shown. Attached to the bail handle is a Rutland Railway Corporation tag (Rutland, Vermont). The owner of this lantern related to us the following story: This man's father bought this lantern from a local doctor, who's father was given this lantern (and another we have up for sale) by a friend of the family who worked for the Rutland Railway when it closed c.

We are told this lantern was used by the railway, but the tag attached is the only remaining evidence of this, so you will have to be the judge of that. The lantern itself is not marked Rutland. The lantern is very heavy duty in construction, and well made in my opinion.

The top part is hinged and its latch strap is missing its lower half, so it doesn't latch anymore (gravity holds it in place). There are many points of wear from age and normal previous use as shown, so please see the pictures. The tank and burner assembly appear to be in great shape, but t. Here is a brass piece loose in the fuel tank.

16-1/2" high x 9" wide x 9-1/2" deep overall excluding the bail handle, 21" high including the handle. Unpacked weight & size: 12.37, 16.25x11x9.25. Packed weight & size: 18, 20x15x13. In many cases you may not even need to return it. The item "Antique Dressel 4-Way Red Green Railroad Switch Signal Lantern, Rutland Railway" is in sale since Wednesday, June 26, 2019.
