(m) Denver & Rio Grande Western Tall Globe Railroad Lantern Matching Amber Globe

DENVER & RIO GRANDE WESTERN TALL GLOBE RAILROAD LANTERN MATCHING AMBER GLOBE. Very nice and always desirable tall globe railroad lantern frame manufactured by Handlan, embossed on the lid "D&RGW" for the Denver & Rio Grande Western. This was the last tall globe lantern made for the D&RG before going to short globe models. Frame is in beautiful condition with excellent, original tinning and free of any major dents or damage, and only issue to report is a small hole on the underside, not from rust but appears to be manmade like a nail hole.

Original lid latch, late Handlan globe retainer assembly, single bail stiffener which is correct on this model, and proper insert font, burner embossed for Handlan AND a functioning wick. Best part of the set is the matching amber etched globe marked, "D&RGW" with "SAFETY FIRST" on the backside. Corning, "Cnx" hallmarked and in fine condition. No large chips and no cracks.
