Vintage Railroad Semaphor Indicator
I've been told by a railroad equipment historian that this item was located in the track side control tower. And was used to change the position of the semaphore signals, thus giving train movement instructions to passing trains. This unit is a switch with a semaphore and handle at the front of the unit. Located at the front of the switch is a 4 3/4 Dia. Bezel that retains a 4 1/4 Dia. Beveled glass that covers the semaphore.

Directly below the glass panel is a heavy BRASS lever that controls switch mechanism housed in the unit. The indicator arm is activated by means of a relay in the rear of the unit. This unit measures 12" Deep x 5 3/4" Wide x 9 3/4 High (Measured at the front).

The body and removable top cover are made of CAST IRON with many layers of grey paint. The top cover can be locked by means of a fixed hasp at the rear of the unit. I don't know what the operating voltage of this unit is. The item "Vintage Railroad Semaphor Indicator" is in sale since Monday, March 9, 2020. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Transportation\Railroadiana & Trains\Hardware\Lanterns & Lamps".

The seller is "tao8801" and is located in Massapequa, New York. This item can be shipped to United States.
