1880s MATCHING PAIR OF BRASS P. L. M FRENCH RAILROAD CAR CANDLE LAMPS ALL ORIGINAL
Here's a wonderful antique matching pair of brass railroad car candle lamps which were made by Poyard of Paris and would have been mounted on the wall of a railway passenger car. You get BOTH lamps which are all original and retain their old brass patina. They are identical and embossed P. M on front of brass tube.....
POYARD A PARIS XXE emb on brass wall mount near bottom.... CORBEIL emb on back of each brass wall mounting plate. POYARD PARIS XXE emb on bottom of brass spring loaded base cap which unscrews from bottom of candle holder..... Each lamp measures 11"tall with a heavy brass wall mount plate that is 5"tall x 1 3/4wide and has 2 mounting holes.
There is a long spring inside each brass cylinder that would hold the candle. Glass cylinder globes are both original and in excellent condition with no chips or damage.
Fancy decorated brass tops are vented and designed to just sit on top of the glass tube globe, so they can easily be removed for lighting and cleaning. They have brass clamps that are designed to grip the bottom edge of brass vented hood. Both lamps are in good condition with only a tiny dent in base of one and one brass prong missing on vented top.....Both vented hoods are wobbly but still firmly attached with rivets. I guarantee these candle lamps are authentic and over 100 years old... Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
