1897 B&M Boston & Maine Railroad Lantern Red Corning Embossed Globe

Offered is an Antique Collectible Boston & Maine "The Adams" Tall Globe Brakeman Lantern. Date on Lid: Nov 30.97.

Soldered on tag on smoke dome is typical of B&M RR items as a stock # or employee tag: C - # 752. The Red Selenium Corning Globe has a bold strike, better edges than most, no cracks, and faint embossed letters at top edge (can make out: N O) so it is an early Corning Cast Globe with PAT date there - but is real faint.

Burner has very old clean patina: ADLAKE - CHICAGO on turn dial. Everything works, operates, opens and closes as it should with wick and inside fuel font, is clean and shinny.
