Adlake Reliable C&NW Railway frame and matched tall globe hand lantern

Chicago and North Western Railway Adlake "Reliable" tall globe hand lantern. Frame is 10 3'/8 in height at the dome top. Base diameter is 6 7/8.

Corning globe has cast C. " The top of the dome has "C. The railroad initials on this version are not stamped on the lid shoulder.. The lid opens with the triangular thumb latch. Fuel fount is drop-in, is clean and has a working wick adjuster.

The frame is solid, undented and straight. The wire frame does not appear to have had all of its grime cleaned off. Much original finish still on lower end and fuel fount. The upper end heated surfaces show oxidation, as seen. It has had use, and appears that it has had reasonably good care.
