Antique 1920 Railriad Lantern Adlake Reliable No 90 Switchman Central Vermont RY. Switchmans lanterns were almost never marked with a railroad.
This one was in the yard in St Albans at the capital of the railroad for Vermont. It has aging and wear, including stable cracking in the handle that doesn't go through. Handle is still solid and hangs fine. It is a Sangster drop out. No leaks that I have found. I have had fuel in it for months and lit it every couple weeks or so and never leaked a drop. Stays lit and wick raises and lowers. There is surface aging, but feels relatively smooth. The is the squat bell bottom wood bale. Really rare high quality lantern as it is, but being marked with the Central Vermont Railway makes it a total gem. Please see photos to determine exact condition and description for yourself.
