This amazingly heavy, beautiful rusty piece of railroad history came from a now defunct rail system in Putnam County New York.. I tried to research exactly what it was, but I can't really find it exact so I don't know if it's a super rare piece or not. It would be amazing as a lamp post or table base or any kind of reused repurposed, steel cast-iron art. I believe this one is about 30 inches and weighs about 50 pounds but I will get exact measurements if that matters to you.
You can see one end has the old bolts and ceramic conduit inside and the other has a threaded part which would be perfect for any wiring or attachments for hook hooks. Just a wonderful piece for reusing or as is with a clearcoat sprayed over the top.
Please, if you have information as to exactly what this is, would you kindly share? I will post any additional information I can to the listing and enjoy being educated about a piece like this.
