You can see the date stamped on the chimney - S - 1 - 194x. The last digit is not recognizable, but based on the patent dates and history of the lantern is was manufactured in the 1940's. It is a fully functional clean Railroad Lantern. The Fount is in great shape.
The burner, wick and wick adjustment knob are also fully functional and clean. The globe is a Dietz Vesta New York U. Globe with New York City Lines etched in the front of the globe.
This lantern was very clean and looks like it was lightly used based on the chimney and the inside of the fount. The burner, wick and wick adjustment knob move freely and in great shape.
