
Electric Lamp Conversion 4-way railroad switch lantern produced by the Dressel Railway Lamp & Signal Company, based in Arlington, New Jersey. These lanterns were critical safety tools used in the early to mid-20th century to indicate the position of a track switch to approaching train engineers. (originally established in 1882; moved to Arlington, NJ in 1922). Design: A "4-way" signal featuring four Fresnel glass lenses. Lens Colors: The lense configuration includes red and blue lenses.
