ANTIQUE RAILROAD LANTERN With RED GLASS GLOBE MICHIGAN/GREAT LAKES REGION READ

I have no idea if this works and doubt that it does. I have no idea what the railroad is or what condition this is. Unit needs cleaning but I don't want to ruin anything so I have not cleaned anything. There seems to be some crushing near the top (see images).

Glass globe is dirty but in good shape.
