Armspear B&O 1925 Railroad Lantern w / B&O Stamped Globe/ Unmarked Burner jj

Antique Armspear "1925" Baltimore and Ohio (B&O) Railroad Locomotive Lantern with Clear Etched B&0 Clear Globe with an unmarked Brass Burner. The lantern is embossed with Armspear Manu Co.

1925, and B&O on the top of the lantern. In 1902, Armspear Manufacturing Company produced a line of lanterns that were substantially similar to original Railroad Signal Lamp and Lantern designs under some of the same patents. After World War I, Armspear entered the short-globe lantern market with its "1925" model and continued producing these in their own facilities until around 1931. This is a 1925 lantern based on the chimney.

The fount is in good shape although there are not markings. I don't believe that this is the original burner as you would normally find a "1925" burner. I couldn't find any splits in the fount. Also, I didn't want to fill up the fount with liquid to test because the filler looked completely intact. The Burner is unmarked brass burner and is good shape.

The wick adjustment knob turns freely and the teeth appear intact. There is no wick included. The globe is a clear globe with no chips, fractures or cracks and etched with the B. The bail is slightly bent as can be seen in the pictures. Please refer to the pictures because the globe is in amazing shape for the age.

There aren't any fractures, splits or chips in the globe. The lid latch (the one with a strip of steel and two rivets) was the "standard" and recognized lids for the Armspear lanterns. This had been a feature of most Armspear lanterns since the first "Model 1925" lantern.

Again, this lantern is clean and looks like it was lightly used based on the fact that chimney is clean. There is rust because of the age of the lantern so please take that into consideration. Please pick the best option for you. The item "Armspear B&O 1925 Railroad Lantern w / B&O Stamped Globe/ Unmarked Burner jj" is in sale since Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
