Round maker's tag on lens pocket indicates these were made by Adlake or Adams & Westlake. Originally kerosene, but modified by the NP for electric use. This matched pair had a tag inside each lamp that states these were removed from N. Steam locomotive #1351 Class S4 4-6-0.
Four clear glass lenses are in good shape with no chips or cracks. Outside original wick raisers are still present in good condition. One peephole glass lens is cracked-the other is fine.
Inside are the pockets for the colored lenses plus storage pockets for when the colored lenses are not in use. No colored lenses are included. Lamps are still fortunately embossed NPRR and NPR.
The lamp with the single bracket arm is embossed LEFT. Rare pair to find still together and also to be linked to an individual locomotive. The item "Authentic Pair Northern Pacific Railroad Steam Locomotive #1351 Class Lamps" is in sale since Friday, March 6, 2020.
