Bellbottom Railroad Lantern RR Ry Adams & Westlake MONON ROUTE CC CI&L Globe

Here is a very desirable lantern made by Adams & Westlake. Marked "The Adams" on the dome top. It has a fixed bellbottom and is embossed "MONON ROUTE" on the rim of the lid.

The pot and burner are a good fit. No holes in the pot. The frame is in good condition with original patina.

There is one very small "slit" in the lid on the side opposite of the RR markings. No big deal, hard to see, and does not detract. No other holes or damage. The outstanding clear cast globe.

Was made by Corning and is boldly cast C. In BIG letters inside a rectangle. No chips or cracks in the globe. The CI&L (Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville) was the corporate name of the Monon from 1897 to 1951. This lantern is a good find and will be a superb addition to any lantern collection.

I've had this lantern in my collection for at least 30 years. The new owner will be very pleased! Cast globes marked CI&L are not easy to find!
