BLE LENS FEELS MORE LIKE PLASTIC BUT RED IS DEFINITELY GLASS. BLUE RED GLASS LENSES AND BEVELED GLASS FRONT LENS ALL IN TACT. Beveled glass on edge as shown. Rusted as shown but nothing major.

This is a vintage Sherwoods kerosene railroad signal lantern in very good condition. No major rust and no dents.

The removable kerosene container and burner assembly is in very good condition. The wick knob works and the wick moves up and down.

It has a porcelain wick holder in excellent condition which is marked "SHERWOODS BIRMINGHAM MOBILITE BURNER". The wick knob is also marked SHERWOODS LTD. The burner has a shinny nickel silver reflector to produce a bright light. The lantern has a center door section that locks. The outside of the lantern is marked "BR" The lantern is 11" tall and the base is 4.5 in diameter 7.5" from handle to front glass. This is a great, old railroad lantern which will surely make an unusual addition to any fine collection. Please see all the photos and ask any questions.
