C&WM RR 1882 A&W bellbottom railroad lantern withclear etched C&WM ext base globe

Up for sale is a railroad lantern made by The Adams & Westlake Company. This lantern is embossed on the lid for C&WM RR (Chicago & West Michigan RR). The metal is clean and shows only minor surface roughness. There are no rusted out areas, no extra holes, no major dents in the top or cage. The frame is tight and solid.

The bellbottom is also solid and has no holes or rusted out areas. It does have a surface which appears to be "wrinkled", for lack of a better term.

The patent dates are stamped on the underside of the bellbottom and the last of these is 1882. The globe is clear, no cloudy areas and strongly etched C&WM. The top and bottom rims are in good shape but -- the bad news, which can be seen in the pictures, is that the globe is cracked. All in all, a very hard to find lantern from a road that operated on the west side of Michigan and became a part of the Pere Marquette system.
