Like this railroad lantern made by The Adams & Westlake Co. It is their The Adams model with a last pat date of 1909 and is embossed on the lid for CGW (Chicago Great Western) RR. It is a great piece -- smooth metal, no major dents, no extra holes, no rusted through places. The frame sits well and is solid and tight. Please note that there is one minor repair to the bottom of the lantern.
The center portion of the daisy pattern was drilled out, probably for drainage, and has been filled back in. The fuel fount is correct for this lantern and is solid, clean and without holes. The brass burner is stamped for Adlake and a 1909 pat date. The globe is well cast CGW RR in larger letters and is in a rectangular panel. However, if held just right, you can see "sparkly" areas in the glass. The top and bottom rims are in good condition.
