Chicago Terre Haute & Southeatern Handlan Tall Globe Railroad Lantern

One clean CHICAGO TERRE HAUTE & SOUTHEASTERN RAILWAY HANDLAN tall globe railroad lantern with red unmarked globe. The frame is straight and nicely embossed C. RY on the shoulder in large bold letters. The frame & fount appear to have been painted a pewter-silver like color many years ago that looks nice as is. The burner is marked HANDLAN ST.

LOUIS" and the fount "USE LONG TIME BURNING OIL ONLY No300. Only things to note are some rust pin holes on the bottom & side portion of the frame where the fount & burner assemply is seated that only show when you look closely inside or from the bottom.

History: The Chicago, Terre Haute & Southeastern was incorporated November 26, 1910. Specifically for the purpose of acquiring the railroad and property of the Southern Indiana Railway Company. Leased the entire 298-mile Southeastern for 999 years in 1921 and later purchaced it in 1948.
