CNR Railroad Signal Lantern with an Edison Light #303

This is a Canadian National Railroad, (CNR) signal lantern. Canadian division of Adlake Co. It has HLP, M stamped on the top and on the door it is stamped. "C N R" and Patented 1909 12 20, Piper Montreal.

It has been fitted with an Edison bulb and black steel lamp cage at the top for table lighting and a light socket and switch in the base for the signal lighting. An antique style twisted electrical cord finishes off the vintage look. The lamp has all it's original lens and shows very well for a lamp nearly 100 years old.

No attempt has been made to make this piece new. I like to keep old pieces with age and history, clean and old. The lamp stands 24" tall and 9" wide.
