Colorado & Southern Ry. A&W ADAMS Railroad lantern With Red Cast Burlington globe

Here's a nice one for this week. It's an Adams & Westlake flat vertical double guard ADAMS railroad lantern, marked on the rim of the lid C&S RY. , for the Colorado & Southern RY. A subsidiary of the CB&Q, better known as the Burlington Route. The lantern is in outstanding condition, with probably 90% of its original tin. There are no issues that I can find. The frame sits straight on its base. There are no corrosion spots or holes of any kind. The fuel pot has no holes, and the burner/fuel pot combo are correct for the lantern. The fount cup is solid. The Corning style BURLINGTON ROUTE red cast globe has no cracks, cloudiness, scratches, or other distractions. The usual small rim imperfections from use may be present. This is a great lantern. The photos don't really do it justice, as it has just enough patina to give it that great Hey, I've actually seen railroad service! Colorado railroad items are in great demand currently and this is a gem just waiting for a new home. NOTE: Don't wait for a lantern offering with a Red Cast "C&S" globe. There are only two or three known to exist. Since the Burlington Route controlled the C&S, they simply supplied their subsidiary with their own color globes. The item "Colorado & Southern Ry.
