Early 20th Century Railroad Lantern with Fresnel Lenses

Louis Antique painted cast iron kerosene railroad lantern with fresnel lenses. The company was both highly respected and patronized by railroad companies, with strong sales in its home region of the Midwest. As evidenced by an embossed ownership tag, this particular lamp was used on the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway, a train line that ran from its westernmost points in Chicago and Michigan eastward to Virginia, New York, and Delaware. Featured on this lamp are two heavy-duty glass fresnel lenses and chippy coat of traffic yellow paint. Exhibits minor signs of wear including the aforementioned chippy paint in addition to some rusting.
