The top of the lantern is marked C. " The lid is marked "The D. The P&A (Plume & Atwood) burner is actually NOS that we found at Kirkman Lanterns and is in great shape--the wick moves smoothly. There are no holes in the fount, and no cracks in the globe.
The lantern is complete, solid and sits flat. Ham #39 railroad lantern was patented circa 1893; C. Ham was bought out by Dietz around 191415. The #39 features upright guards made of double round steel wires, which make it stronger and more durable than other lanterns, and it has a spring bail. The package will be sent insured.
