Quarter RR Lantern for the Fitchburg, Massachusetts line that was in operation from the 1840s to 1900 when it became part of the Boston and Maine. It was made by C. HAM and has a glass font as seen in our pictures. The heavy glass globe is embossed in relief FRR. The globe has a chip on the base but, cannot be seen when in the lamp and because its so thick it will not get any worse.
We believe the chip has been there for many decades. The wick turns freely and is in overall good condition.
The dome top is brass. The overall height is 12. THIS IS A GREAT PIECE OF RR HISTORY AND IS QUITE RARE. The item "Fitchburg Railroad Lantern 19th century" is in sale since Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
