Frisco Railroad (St Louis & San Francisco) Handlan-Buck The Handlan Lantern

This is an excellent Frisco Railroad (St Louis & San Francisco) Handlan-Buck "The Handlan" model switchman's lantern. This is an rare item.

"FRISCO SYSTEM" is cast on the rim inside of the Frisco shield. The lantern's number, 7498, is pressed into the rim.

The "FRISCO" shield logo is also etched into the clear extended base globe. It has a twist off, bell bottom fount that is easily removable. There is a casting error at the very top of the globe which you will see in the photos.

At first, we thought it was a crack, but there is no indentation felt on the outside of the globe, and you will feel the thickness of the cast when you run a finger over this area inside of the globe. The error can barley be seen when the globe is inside of the lantern body. An amazing, rare lantern that will be a featured piece in your collection!
