Handlan Single Lens Railroad Marker Lamp w Clear Lens / Handlan Burner Fount TJ. This is a dead flame lantern that appears to be similar to the Adlake Semaphore Lantern.

It has a brass burner. Most of the lantern appears to be riveted steel. This lantern is unusual because it only has one clear single lens and a red colored removable glass filter on the inside of the lamp.

The fount is a Handlan fount with the Handlan name embossed on the fount. It slide through the chimney and sit securely in the base of the lamp. Some of the original writing on the fount cannot be seen anymore, but Handlan is still visible. Similar to the Adlake Semaphore lantern, this lantern uses a single lens to produce a focused light.

This clear lens appears to original to the lamp. The lamp is fully functional as the fount is in good condition. The brass burner appears to be in good shape also. Initially the burner was very tight in the fount, but we were able to remove it. Because of this, we did not force the burner back into the fount so it can be removed easily.

The wick adjustment knob is a little snob, but the wick does move up and down. I couldn't find any patent dates on the lamp so I can't tell the age of the lamp. Feel free to ask questions or request more pictures.
