J C & W LORD RAILWAY LANTERN, CAMPAIGN LAMP, VICTORIAN, RD No 186745, LARGE
A large vintage / antique Lamp. Inside it has a tiny brass plaque which reads. Rd (or) Ro No 186745. I presumed this was for a Registered Design number, but it doesn't match up. I hope you will know exactly what this number refers to (hopefully). The square section / body measures 11½ inches in height and and 6 inches wide per side. Legs are approx 4½ inches long. Round Chimney section, (which I presume has top section missing) is 3½ inches tall. Handle is broken on side and is held on by wire. Top section of chimney is missing. I do not know what it should have. 1 glass panel has broken glass.
Internals (see photos) there is no'burner' / wick holder??? Once again I do not know what it should have. The base panel is coming off and is bent. The brackets holding the legs on, one is detached from base section. This base section / leg brackets need work.
The legs themselves seem ok. Please note, I also think that one side should have a metal panel that would be held on by a'pin.
There is no metal panel. The lamp is NOT returnable. It could be collected from Sidmouth Devon, EX10. Will be sent signed for and insured. Thank you for viewing, John.
