Don't miss this one! Up for sale is this railroad lantern made by The Keystone Lantern Company.
This is their Casey model with a 1903 patent date. The lantern is shop stamped on the brim for the M&L RR and above that, the number 54 is stamped in to the metal. The M&L RR is Manistee & Luther RR -- an early shortline that I heard was narrow gauge. Basically, they were a lumber hauling railroad.
This is only the second M&L lantern that I have ever seen or heard about. The frame looks to have been plated or painted with a glossy silver color. There may be some slight roughness under the coating. The frame has no major dents or rusted out areas. The Casey twist off works as it should and the thumbwheel on the underside rotates to raise or lower the wick.
The extended base globe is clear and is not marked for a railroad or glass maker. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS LISTING WILL END TUESDAY JULY 21, 2026. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, MAKE YOUR OFFER BEFORE IT ENDS!
