Custom made one of a kind lamp with original four light cast iron railroad signal head or train lamp with bronze bald eagle finial top, mounted on wooden base. Based on my limited research: (I welcome additional info or corrections). The cast iron light was possibly made by the American Car & Foundry, the builders of train cars for the original New York City IRT subway. These signal lights would have been mounted on the front and rear of those subway cars as route markers?
Fresh estate find from a former NYCT employee and railroad collector. Rare piece perfect for the railroad buff or for a man cave. Not sure what parts aside from the cast iron housing are original.
Excellent overall condition, only major issue is the chipped clear light lens and some denting of the lens rings. Lamp cord is brand new and has a on/off switch, the lamp socket inside also has a switch. Light bulb is not included. About 21-1/4" tall x 9" at the base.
Signal is marked 465 on top and 465A on the door. Amber/yellow lens is marked Corning the other three are Kopp Glass. This is a solid & very heavy lamp.
