Railroad Car Inspectors Lamp Star Head Light & Lantern NYCS NYC-S Clear Globe. Lantern is in good shape for its age. It is engraved NYC-S on the handle. The globe has no major chips, cracks or fractures and easily comes out of the lantern. The embossed writing on the back of the lamp is clearly visible.

The wick adjustment knob is rusty and difficult to turn. We did not want to damage the knob by putting too much pressure on it. The burner is also rusty and cannot be removed from the lantern. There are a couple tiny holes in the fount, so it will not hold liquid but could probably be easily fixed. The fount cap is plastic.

Even with some imperfections, this is a very nice lantern and piece of history. Please refer to the pictures for condition and message with any questions.
