Railroad Electric Switch Stand Lamp

Western RailRoad Signal Company Electric Switch Lamp. Type 1870, Model PC 1870-1. 8" wide by 8" wide by 11 tall.

Lighted 1 Red, 1 Green and 2 Amber lens. The mounting hole in the bottom is 1" X 1-1/4". This unit was formerly mounted on a square steel rod above the switch stand. This belonged to the Canadian Nationals, United States entity Grand Trunk Western Railroad. It was in service until retired in 1969.

At Elsdon Yard, Chicago, Illinois. When electric lights were replaced with highly reflective banners that were lit up by the locomotive headlights.
