RARE! Antique Dressel Railroad Lantern POLICE Red Globe NYPD New York Complete

This is a truly RARE find! This Dressel Railroad Lantern is not manufactured for any railroads! It is marked POLICE Dept on the hat rim. The Red Globe has the raised marking of City Of New York. Note, this antique NYPD lantern has a similar body form to a railroad lantern, but unlike the railroad ones, the handle is rigidly attached.

All components of the lantern are original Dressel manufactured (including the burner). The globe is perfect and has no cracks or chips. The metal caging is sturdy and mostly free of rust (see photos).

It would be a great addition for any serious railroad lantern collectors. The lantern measures approximately 14 tall and 7.5 at the widest point.
