Rare B&O Railroad Adlake Lantern With Cast Baltimore & Ohio Capitol Globe

Rare B&O Railroad Adlake Lantern W/ Embossed Baltimore & Ohio Capitol Globe. Up for sale is a Baltimore & Ohio Railway lantern. This is an Adlake reliable model.

It is stamped B&O RR. Other markings include The Adams and Westlake Co, New York Chicago, Loco.

Two of the stringers are broken but do not affect use and are hidden from view. See picture, the other stringer is on the exact opposite side.

This problem was common among the reliable models. The glass globe has the classic Baltimore & Ohio capitol logo.

It is cast, not engraved. And of course, it says Safety First. On the backside of the globe, it has a surface scratch, I do not think it is a crack as I was not able to feel it on the inside of the glass. This lantern is ready to go, just add kerosene and ignite it. This is a very unique piece of B&O history.
