It began operations in 1906 as an electrified terminal railroad and changed over in 1944 to a diesel road. At it's peak, it had 43 miles of trackage in 1950, staying in existence until 1972 when it was abandoned. A very rare lantern from this road, as I have never seen another one. This lantern was acquired out of Hoboken, New Jersey many decades ago, which is located across the Hudson River from Brooklyn.
