Rock Island System 1895 A&w Railroad Lantern Clear Cast Ext Base Globe Original

ROCK ISLAND SYSTEM 1895 A&W RAILROAD LANTERN CLEAR CAST EXT BASE GLOBE ORIGINAL. Very nice, last patent date 1895 Adams & Westlake twist off model embossed on the lid nicely, "ROCK ISLAND SYSTEM". The frame has a darker patina with very little pitting, just an even surface in great shape, free of any holes, dents, or damage, and is completely original top to bottom with the correct bail, lid latch, globe retainer assembly, and the original, and beautiful twist off font. Font is gorgeous, and in great shape, burner included. There is tin inside the waist area and the font itself.

The frame was painted long ago when it came from a Kansas estate and this was what was underneath. Best part of the set is the matching globe, cast ROCK ISLAND SYSTEM extended base style. Very light surface scratches that do not impede the quality of the glass and are very hard to see, the globe is a beauty. Hard to even find a flea bite; just about mint rims.
