SANTA FE AT&SFRY RAILROAD LANTERN Red Cast AT&SFRy Lantern Globe

Offered is a unique piece of western railroad history; an outstanding example of an Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad Lantern with a matching Red Cast AT&SFRY Lantern Globe. The frame is an Adlake 3 Pc. Top Reliable Bellbottom and is embossed on the bell AT&SFRY. To get around that specification, A&W embossed all of their maker and patent information on the top of the fuel founts for these lanterns and this lantern has the correct original embossed fount.

The lantern frame is in excellent condition; has clean smooth metal, lots of original tin, stands straight and has no dents, extra holes drilled, bent, broken or missing parts. As already stated, it comes with the correct embossed ADLAKE threaded fount and brass Adlake1909 patented burner. The fount and burner are in excellent condition and would still hold fuel and burn if desired. Fount is almost 100% tin inside and out. The wick easily moves up and down.

The lantern globe is in excellent condition; free of scratches, cloudiness, chips or cracks. There may be some minor rim nicks or specks from use but these are no shows when the globe is seated in a lantern frame.

This matching set is original and complete from top to bottom and it would be tough to find another example this nice! The Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad existed from 1870 to 1997 when it merged with Burlington Northern to form Burlington Northern - Santa Fe or BNSF.
