This is a nice Santa Fe Railroad Adlake model bell bottom lantern. This is the same lantern that is featured on page 69 of the "Illustrated Encyclopedia of Railroad Lighting, Volume 1" by Richard Barrett. Has both its burner and fount. Nice clear cast globe with the Santa Fe "cross in circle" logo inside of a square, cast into the globe. The globe does have a crack in it, but you can not feel it on the inside of the globe, and only a little bit on the surface on the outside of the globe.
The globe is intact and will NOT fall apart. The crack is NOT near the cast logo---it is on the side near the glass seam---could have possible even been cast as such since you can barely feel it. Nice tinware with only some surface rust on the top."SANTA FE" is impressed on the bell bottom as well. The last patent date for these lanterns was 1913. This is an original, never restored lantern.
A great addition to a Santa Fe RR enthusiast's collection. The item "Santa Fe Railroad Adlake Bell Bottom Lantern withClear Cast Logo Globe" is in sale since Monday, September 20, 2021.
