They have been rewired and have new toggle switches, just like the originals. The fixtures are small and are suitable for creating soft ambiance but they are not going to be good for lighting up a room. They are lovely and they are unique, but they need to find the right niche! The fixtures are too narrow to cover a standard 4 electrical box so they would need to be adapted to it with some kind of intermediate mounting plate covering the box.
However, they will cover a 2-1/4" switch box, but they still will need to accommodate the switch that protrudes 1/2" from the back by cutting a small hole in the drywall? Alternatively, we can replace the toggle switches with surface mounted rotary switches which do not protrude on the back. Just ask and we will be glad to substitute. Dimensions: 8-3/4" high, 2-5/8" wide, and project 2-1/4 from the wall. Use T-8 bayonet base bulbs (25w bulbs are included with the sale). You will not find these bulbs at your local supermarket but 1000 Bulbs and Amazon sell them. Just search " T-8 bayonet base ". They need to be rated for at least 110v. We have a lot of antique lighting for sale, so please check out our lighting store.
