This lantern is in excellent original condition with lots of patina. It is embossed on the top lid S. (Southern Pacific) on the shoulder of 1897 "The Adams" double wire flat vertical frame with the drop-in Adlake fount and burner.
It comes with a red cast SP Co in an oval rectangular panel globe with a strong cast in excellent condition. On the other side, it is embossed with Corning logo "Cnx", Made in U. The top rim has no chips, flakes, or flea bites, and the bottom rim has one very small outside flea bite. The frame is in original untouched condition with a spotty finish but smooth surfaces with lots of tin.
It stands 10 1/4 tall without the bail. An early Southwest Railroadiana piece that is desirable and ready to add to.
