This Police Call Box features the Railroad Accessories Corporation Logo of a cross section of RR Track with the letters "R A" embossed on the front door. As far as I can determine these "R A" Boxes date from around the early 1900's.
The UPRR Police Call Box is made of heavy cast aluminum with embossed an engraved identification plates. The UPRR Police Call Box Telephone and Top Light Assembly have a Powder Coated Finish (baked on enamel) with professional had painted lettering.Inside the Union Pacific Railroad Police Call Box is a 1930-40's Western Electric Model 211 Telephone. That has been "converted for use on today's telephone system". The Police Call Box also features a working Top Light Assembly with a Ruby Red Railroad Glass Globe. The top light makes a great night light for your office, game room, den or other special area.
The Top Light Assembly is controlled by an "On-Off" Line Cord Switch and plugs into a regular household electrical outlet. The UPRR Police Call Box Telephone has a Locking Front Door and includes an authentic reproduction Lock and Keys with the Union Pacific "Overland Route" Logo (see picture).
This Railroad Telephone will work fine with "regular" telephone service without a converter. Be sure to ask about other Police, Fire, Yellow Cab Taxi and Railroad Call Box Telephone Restorations.
T he pictures may show some reflections in the powder coated finish. This Railroad Telephone is in absolutely beautiful condition. THIS RARE AND UNUSUAL 1900 - 1940's UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD (UPRR) POLICE CALL BOX TELEPHONE IS THE ULTIMATE FUNCTIONAL WORKING ITEM FOR YOUR COLLECTION, DISPLAY AND USE.
