The font is heavy sheet tin with an unmarked burner, it does read Made In USA on the wick riser knob. The lantern is removable from the bracket. The bracket has a pin and spring style locking mechanism underneath that allows you to turn the square font holder in multiple directions.
There is a lot of light surface on the tin font, but it appears to be solid and worthy of holding fluid. The wick riser knob works as it should and lifts and drops the wick when turned. The filler plug turns easily to remove and tighten.
It appears with a little cleaning this would be perfectly functional. The wall bracket measures 27" tall and 4.5" wide.
The font measures 5" x 6" and is 17 tall to the top of the chimney when it is in place. This is a great piece, seems to be quite primitive and early. I found it at a Lancaster County PA estate sale mounted to the wall in the house on a farm.
