Vintage Railroad Search Light Block Signal Complete Setup Project

Complete antique railroad block signal with mast, finial, pedestal, signal box case, swivel case mast mount, inside electric mechanism, signal lenses, lens hood, signal outer bezel halo. All original bolts and hardware. The first picture on add is is for display purposes.

You have to imagine how cool this would look repainted and mounted. It would look great in a die hard railroaders yard or museum. The solar light is super easy and a cheap way to light it up. You could use the included original signal mechanism also. See pic of inside of restored case with solar. I can send you more pics of how to do the solar light. All this signal is made of cast iron and not the newer easy to find aluminum parts that don't look vintage. The large circular outer signal bezel halo is the hard to find type with a single rib around it. The signal lenses are in great shape and are original thick glass. The mast is about 18 ft long. It has some rust on the bottom 8 in. That you could cut off. The vintage mast is in great shape and super solid and heavy.

The two mounting pedestals are also cast iron and in excellent condition. The pedestals make mounting this a breeze. I would dig a square hole fill with cement and drop four bolts in cement at approx measure of bottom pedestal mounts.

I would use a bucket truck to lift mast into pedestal and tighten bolts. I loosened and lubed all the mounting nuts bolts so they all work great on everything so no surprises. There is a small crack in one of the signal case mounting brackets. It is small and would be a easy fix if you want. A small crack in the signal hood bezel also that you could weld if you think it needs it or use a larger washer. I fixed a small dent in the large circular bezel halo. It came out great and will be undetectable when painted. This is very heavy and you will need a trailer for the mast. I can possibly deliver or meet you part way if within Iowa.
